Restless Leg Syndrome Remedies

Nocturnal myoclonus or restless leg syndrome is the involuntary movement of the legs. It is an odd sensation to continuously move the legs. Movement of the particular part results in relief that is temporary.

Also termed RLS or Wittmaack-Ekbom's syndrome, restless leg syndrome is stimulated by drugs, stimulants, such as beverages. It is analogous to the burning and itching in extremities. Certain drugs, such as anti histamines, anti psychotic drugs, anti nausea drugs and those given for seizures trigger restless leg syndrome.

Low blood sugar levels are seen to worsen RLS. Avoid consumption of refined and processed foods. Animal fats are restricted.

Symptoms include creeping, crawling, aching, burning, jittery feeling and a deep seated problem. Condition aggravates during inactivity. The symptoms might worsen by evening. Caffeinated beverages, chocolates and soft drinks are abstained from. Alcohol and smoking are avoided. Regular exercise helps in relief from symptoms. Alternative usage of hot and cold packs is recommended.
