Natural Remedies for Acne 

When your oil ducts get blocked with dirt, bacteria or dead skin, you develop acne. Acne typically affects people with oily skin or hormonal problems. Acne may also break out when you are going through high levels of stress.


Most people outgrow acne once out of their teens, but the problem persists into adulthood in some cases. Pimples can be very frustrating, but just about the worst thing you can do is to pick at them. Squeezing pimples or rubbing them will only cause them to spread and leave unsightly scars.




One simple trick that almost always works, is toothpaste. Apply a little toothpaste on a zit directly and not on the surrounding skin. Leave it till it dries and then wipe it off with a wet tissue. Or just whip up a face mask containing egg white and and sandalwood powder. Apply it all over your face, let it dry and then wash it off. You can also try cleaning your face with a cotton ball soaked in lemon juice every night before going to bed. All of these things will help dry up the acne.

Always clean your face with a very mild cleanser that does not contain either soap or detergent. If you wash your face with something harsh, your oil glands will start to overproduce oil and make the acne worse. Make fresh fruit and vegetables, especially carrots and cucumbers, a part of your daily diet and stay away from oily foods. If you have other hormonal issues, you may need to treat them to get rid of the acne.
