Heat Rash Home Remedy

Children are very sensitive and extreme care is essential in dealing them. Summer rash or heat rashes are blisters or bumps, seen in case of excessive heat. They are red and are especially seen in the folds, namely stomach, crotch, neck, buttocks and chest. The clothes fit closely in these areas, making the condition worse, at times. Removing the clothing or loosening those helps. Keep the child in a well ventilated room. Clogging of skin pores with sweat also result in heat rashes. Heat rashes are more common in the hot and humid weather. Infants are sensitive to a cough ointment rubbed across the chest. Wearing too many clothes or increased body temperature brings heat rash along with it, as in your child's case.

A cool bath with baking soda, added to a gallon of water proves beneficial. Place the child on a cotton towel. Wipe the infant well with a wet washcloth. Trim your child's fingernails, so that scratching is prevented. Avoid rubbing the child. Allow him to air dry. Creams and ointments are better avoided, as the moisture is blocked, making the condition worse. Avoid placing the infant directly under the fan. Usage of air conditioner is better. Visit your pediatrician, in case of no relief.
