Causes and Treatment for Numb Arm

Numbness is a kind of tingling sensation that runs through the hands or limbs. Certain conditions are not harmful, whereas some conditions of numbness are serious. Insufficient information regarding the duration of numbness is available.

Treatment involves the diagnosis of the cause. It is a loss of sensation in a temporary manner. Care is essential, as it might cause injury.

Diabetes, multiple sclerosis and improper circulation are the causes of numbness. It is also associated with emotional disturbances, such as depression.

Raynaud's disease is a condition, associated with disruption in blood circulation, thereby resulting in numbness of the extremities. Stress and change temperature results in extreme reaction of the blood nerves with the limbs and hands. Exposure to cold weather results in constriction of the blood vessels, thereby resulting in this syndrome. Movement of the hands is helpful.

Herbs such as Ginkgo biloba and rosemary are effective remedies. Pinching the area is helpful. Avoid stress. Smoking is abstained from, as it obstructs the circulation. Exercises such as swimming, jogging and walking prove beneficial. Identify the cause, if numbness persists and take the guidance of your physician.
