Remedies for Toe nail Fungus

Discoloration of the toe nails and thickening of the same is indicative of toe nail fungus. Also referred to as onychomycosis, toe nail fungus are caused by dermatophytes, a group of fungus. Over-the-counter anti fungal creams are effective in treating toe nail fungus. Tea tree oil is helpful, as terpinen-4-ol, a chemical component possesses fungistatic property.

Creams or ointments containing alpha hydroxy acid are helpful. There are a variety of remedies available at home which prove beneficial. Listerine mouthwash is an effective remedy. Dip your feet, especially the toes, in Listerine. It is an antiseptic that inhibits the growth of the fungus. Equal proportion of lavender oil and tea tree oil are mixed and dabbed on the toes, with the help of a swab.

A teaspoon of olive oil is mixed with two drops of oregano oil. Topical application of this mixture is effective, due to its antifungal, antiviral, analgesic and anti parasitical properties. Fill a tub of warm water and add a few drops of cider vinegar. Soaking in this solution for 20 minutes prove beneficial. Visit a podiatrist, in case you need further help.
