- If the toothache is caused due to food particle stuck in between the teeth. Gargle with a mouthful of water for 5 –10 seconds. Rinse the water briskly, this will release the trapped food.
A vigorous rinse will help in solving the problem. And if a thorough rinse doesn't work, you can gently floss and dislodge a seed or bits of meat from your teeth. - Take1 teaspoon of salt and put it into a glass of water, take a mouthful, hold it on for sometime, let the water roll around your mouth.
Rinse the water and do this regularly after every meal and just before bedtime, - Use your fingers to massage the gums, when you have a toothache. This will help soothe the pain. Rubbing an ice cube on the affected area also relieves the pain. Gently rub the ice over the affected area for 5 to 10 minutes.
- The use of clove oil is considered therapeutic and is an age old remedy for toothache. Clove oil is easily available in most medical stores. You can even carry a bottle of clove oil in a bag. Squeeze a drop or two on the tooth. You may also dab a little oil on a cotton ball and stick it directly on the tooth ache.
