Home remedies for tinea versicolor
Tinea versicolor is not a serious or permanent disease and it's non-contagious. It is caused by fungal infection and it affects only the top layer of the skin.
You can apply some antifungal cream 2 or 3 times a day.
Antidandruff shampoo contains selenium sulfide. You can apply it on the skin to treat tinea versicolor disease.
Regular bath will remove the dead cells and skin and cure infection.
You can also take bath 2 or 3 times a day in the summer season.
Keep your skin dry and clean. Regularly wash your clothes, undergarments and bed clothes. Do not share your creams or clothes with other members of the family.
Yoghurt prevents the spread of fungus by maintaining bacteria level as it contains acidophilus. Increase the intake of this natural home remedy to treat the disease effectively.
Chewing 1 or 2 cloves of garlic will also help as garlic is an anti-fungal agent and treats fungus.
Avoid white rice, sugar and flour. Follow a healthy diet of fruits and vegetables.
You can use baby powder to keep the skin dry.
Do not panic if your natural skin color does return immediately after the infection has been treated. This disease can reoccur and skin color is restored slowly.
