Health Advice on Toenail Fungus

Many people complain of getting white spots on toenails or fingernails. These white spots are small crescent shaped discolorations that mainly results due to minor damage to the nail root. You may have bumped your toe and cause damage to the nail root, resulting in white spots at the nail cuticle.

Occasionally, white spots occur due to nail fungus. If the white spots have appeared somewhere other than the nail cuticle, then it is a warning for nail fungus. White spots are early signs of toenail fungus and as the fungus will grow, these spots will become larger and darker changing to yellow or brown color. The nail may even separate from the nail bed in severe cases.

There are many traditional natural and home remedies to get rid of the nail fungus. The best treatment is the use of apple cider vinegar. Apple Cider Vinegar is responsible for building an acid environment around the infected nail area. This natural remedy is widely used for treating fungus because it is cheap, safe and easily disposable. Use it at least three to four times a day until the growth of fungus is completely inhibited.

Another good option is tea tree oil; it is another excellent remedy for treating toenail fungus. This natural cure helps in preventing accumulation of bacteria and various other infectious organisms in the nail bed.
