Remedies for wrinkles

Wrinkles are the normal result of the wear and tear our skin is subjected to over several years. The problem may be worsened however by the toxins we take in, the pollutants we are surrounded by and the stressful lifestyles we often have. Two of the worst offenders when it comes to causing wrinkles are too much sun exposure and cigarette smoking.

If you are a smoker, then quitting cigarettes may help curtail the damage to some extent.

Here are some measures that can help prevent further wrinkling and may also help undo some of the damage:

  1. Moisturize frequently. The older you grow the drier your skin becomes. Once past your forties switch to a richer moisturizer and use a night cream to help rejuvenate cells as you sleep
  2. Wear sunscreen of SPF 15 at least while venturing into the sun. Also wear sun glasses to protect your eyes prevent the formation of cros feet
  3. Try applying lotions which contain Aloe vera and Vitamin E. they are both good for hydrating and for healing damaged tissue.
  4. Sleep on your back: Sleeping on your side may cause wrinkles when you press your face to the pillow
  5. Take a vitamin supplement to cover up any nutritional deficiencies
  6. Try and spend less time in an air conditioned environment. If you cannot help it, you may try keeping houseplants or using a humidifier to add some moisture to the environment.

And finally ageing is a natural process so just keep a positive outlook and remember youth is how you feel inside not how you look outside.
