Eyes bags remedies

Puffiness under the eyes may be caused by lack of sleep, water retention, allergic reactions or due to the natural process of ageing. Here are some natural remedies to deal with the problem:

  • Splash your face with cold water first thing in the morning
  • Use a gel-filled eye mask after refrigerating it.
  • You can use wet tea bags on your eyes.

The tannin in the tea helps reduce puffiness
  • Place cucumber slices on your eyes for 15 minutes or so.
  • Place potato slices or cotton wool soaked in potato juice over your eyes and leave them on for about 15 minutes.
  • Cut down on salt in your diet and try and go on a low carb diet for a while.

These measures help reduce water retention
  • Elevate the head of your bed
  • Don't drink too much water before sleeping at night.
  • Use a hemorrhoid cream in the under eye region. They help reduce over all puffiness.
  • Avoid using anti ageing or anti wrinkle creams around the eyes.
  • Do not apply rich moisturizers in the eye region at night
  • Switch to gel based make up and creams
  • Drink plenty of water.

If you need to be presentable in a jiffy, leave a teaspoon in the fridge for a few minutes and apply against your eyelids for a couple of minutes. After this use a concealer that is one shade lighter than your regular skin colour or foundation in the under-eye area . This should reduce the appearance of puffiness if not puffiness itself.
