Peeling skin natural cures

A common cause of peeling skin on the hands is sensitivity to soaps and detergents. In such a case, the most important thing is to keep the hand dry. Apply some olive oil or petroleum jelly to the affected area and wear gloves while performing all household tasks. Even while taking a bath, try and avoid getting your hands wet. Medical conditions that can cause peeling are:

  • Erythroderma
  • Exfoliative dermatitis
  • Sensitivity to Detergents or harsh soaps
  • Eczema
  • Psoriasis
  • Dry skin
  • Sunburn
  • Ichthyosis

Here is a compilation of some remedies found to be effective for peeling skin. If the problem does not respond to treatment at home or if it is too severe, you should consult a dermatologist.

  • You can grate some cucumber and use it as a skin mask for your hands. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes and wash it off
  • Applying some fresh mint juice to the affected hands may help with the dryness. It is also said to be effective for eczema and some kinds of dermatitis.
  • Applying olive oil to your hands will help heal the skin
  • Use sunscreen when out in the sun
  • You can snip off dead skin with a scissors. Don't yank it off with your hands or you may tear some live tissue along with it.
