Speak to an orthopedic specialist. Calcium and magnesium supplements do help but it is best to seek professional advice. The specialist can examine you and suggest proper dosage requirements. Excess dosage could land you up with hypervitaminosis and cause other problems hence seek medical help. A natural remedy your friend can try at home: Take 1 cup of boiling water. Add 1 tsp rosehip and horsetail herbs to it. Steep for 10 mins, strain and drink a cup about thrice a day. This helps to heal and rebuild tissue.
