Natural Cures for Heat Burn
Heartburn can have a number of causes. However, it is mostly caused by acid reflux, which is what happens when the digestive juices from the stomach which contain hydrochloric acid go up the esophagus. Whilst the stomach is protected by a lining, the esophagus has no such protection. Prevention is the best remedy for heartburn. Avoid smoking or intake of alcohol prior to meals. Ensure that you avoid foods like beans, cabbage and onions which lead to excess formation of gas in the stomach. Chew food slowly and try to go for a walk after meals to aid the process of digestion.
To soothe the symptoms of heartburn, ensure you drink at least 8 / 9 glasses of water daily as this helps flushing the toxins out of the body. Also, herbal teas such as chamomile, helps soothe the digestive system. Another known remedy is green tea which has been used by the Chinese for centuries. Ginger or ginger root which is easily available at grocery stores also alleviates the sufferings caused by heartburn. This can be consumed by mixing it with regular foods. Increase your intake of food with high fiber content as this helps in absorbing the excess acids and gas in the stomach and helps the digestive process.
