Question on UTI
I have been diagnosed with a urinary tract infection and was prescribed an antibiotic for it. The question I have is, can my partner contract this from me or not?

We all carry the bacteria which may cause a urinary tract infection. It is only when the "terrain" (such as pH) changes, and the immune system is somewhat weak, that bacteria such as e.coli can proliferate and cause an infection. Because of the proximity and structure of a woman's external genitalia, we are more susceptible to urinary tract infections. If your partner is male it is not as likely he will be affected by your imbalance. Be sure to take some probiotics now and for the next few months to rebuild the friendly bacteria which have been
killed by the antibiotics.
