Acid reflux remedies Most of the people suffer form acid reflux at night when they are sleeping. Keep the following points in mind to minimize reflux while sleeping -
- Eat small frequent meals instead of 2-3 large ones. You can have a big meal at lunch but prefer light meals at dinner.
Chew each bite thoroughly before gulping it down, this would not only help in digestion but also give time to your brain to send satiety signals. - Never lie down or bend too much immediately after a meal, simply indulge yourself in some activity like reading or doing other household chores. Have your meals at least 2-3 hours before sleeping time.
Also while sleeping sleep with your neck and shoulders on an incline. - Avoid eating foods that are known to cause reflux like too spicy foods, oily or fried foods, red pepper, meat, pickles, cakes and pastries with heavy dressings, sour foods, strong tea, coffee and carbonated beverages.
- Avoid smoking, drinking alcohol or emotional stress as these factors might worsen your condition.
