Raw beef liver consumption

Raw beef liver is packed with various nutrients. Just four ounce of raw beef liver would give 183 calories and 22 gm proteins. It is a moderate calorie high protein food.

Besides calories and proteins it contains exceptional amounts of vitamin A, just 3 ½ ounce of raw beef liver would provide 1,800 mcg of vitamin A which is far more than the normal adult requirements (800-1,000 mcg). Thus it should be consumed in restricted amounts for pregnant ladies and children as vitamin A toxicity can occur in children and it can also causes birth defects in new born. The non-heam iron present in beef liver helps to deal with anemia.

Beef liver is also rich in other minerals like phosphorous, calcium, vitamin D, vitamin B12, copper and vitamin C.

To gain the maximum nutritional benefits it is important to kill the toxic substances and inhibitors present in raw beef liver. Avoid consuming it raw, there are different delicious cooking methods which can be enjoyed.
