Home remedies to reduce swelling under the eyes
- Apply an ice pack on the swollen skin for 10 to 15 minutes 3 to 4 times daily.
- Wash your eyes with rose water, cucumber or raw potato juice or the diluted gel of Aloe Vera gel.
- Cover each eye with a slice of cucumber or raw potato or apply grated potato or cucumber as a poultice on the eyes.
- You can also place a couple of strawberry on the swelling for a few minutes.
- Place chilled and unused tea bags on your eyes for 10 minutes and then wash them with cold water. Repeat it 2 to 3 times a day.
- Limit your salt intake and drink at least 1 liter of water daily.
- Get 7 to 8 hours of sleep regularly and do not take stress.
- Avoid smoking and shorten the time that you devote for activities like sewing, reading or watching television which require your eyes to focus a lot.
- Apply an Aloe Vera or vitamin E cream under your eyes. While applying this, gently tap the swollen skin to drain out excess water.
- Beat an egg-white and apply it to the skin under the eyes and on your face and leave it for sometime. Wash it with cold water and pat some rose water all over the face.
