If you are having trouble sleeping at night and that is causing you to feel sleepy during the day, the problem to address is lack of good sleep at night. If you are unable to settle down, there are several simple things you can try that will bring you a good night's sleep. Aromatherapy offers the use of essential oils that help in relaxing your mind, body and senses and calming you down considerably.
The fragrances of lavender and sandalwood are particularly effective in providing you with a good night's sleep. You can either burn the essential oils or incense sticks of these fragrances in your room. This should help considerably. Having a glass of warm milk and a small sugar free snack like a slice of toast or a fruit just before bedtime will provide you with restful sleep.
The other thing you can focus on is your pillow and bed. If your pillow is too high or low it may be causing you discomfort. Your bed being too hard or too soft can also present the same problem. These things need to be checked and addressed according to personal preference. Posture is also very important. Try to sleep on your back as this is the most restful posture for the body. It is important to be completely comfortable while sleeping. You must wear loose clothing and not tie your hair. You should avoid sweets and alcohol after sunset, as these rev up your system and interfere with your sleep.
