Home remedies for yeast infection
- Yes, yogurt is considered as the most effective remedy to cure yeast infection. Soak a tampon in yoghurt and put it in the infected area for at least an hour 3 times a day. The healthy bacteria of the fresh yogurt will replace the unhealthy yeast bacteria thus curing the infection. You can also dip the tampon in tea tree oil instead of yogurt.
- Dab the area with apple cider vinegar 3 to 4 times a day. You can add some garlic juice to it to reduce itching. Water can be added to the vinegar to dilute it. If you have yeast infection on parts other than the genital area, apply the paste made form raw garlic.
- Drink 2 to 3 glasses of buttermilk or have at least 2 cups of yoghurt daily. This will not only help in curing yeast infection but in preventing its occurrence.
- Mix the extracts of grapefruit seeds and olive leaf in a glass of water. It acts as a tonic in curing the infection.
- You can also use suppositories made form tea tree oil for 2 consecutive nights.
- Wear cotton underpants or any other garments. Keep away from irritants like deodorants and sprays etc.
