Cures for scabies

Scabies is a skin infection that is a result of the parasite sarcoptes scabei var hominis. These are basically mites that are about as big a pinhead. These mites are almost transparent and borrow into the outer layer of the skin.

Care should be taken when living near a patient who has scabies, as it can be transmitted by direct skin to skin contact, through clothes or using the same personal items such as a bed or towels. Therefore when getting rid of scabies it is important that people living in the vicinity of the patient should take precautions as they can be infected as well. The symptoms include the formation of red rash that is inflamed and causes intense itching. There are two types of over the counter treatments for scabies — one is an oral method and the other is the use of topical cream.

You should consult your dermatologist to find out which treatment is best suited for you. In general, the topical creams work effectively in most cases. In some cases however, oral medication may also be necessary. It is however best to take medical advice first, as some of these treatments may cause allergies and other complications. If your case is mild, you can try applying vinegar on the affected areas first.
