Remedies for improving eyesight

I have heavy numbered glasses. I am wearing glasses since I was 11 as I couldn't see things which are far. Now I am 28. Kindly suggest any natural way to improve my eyesight.

Tips to improve eyesight 

There are a variety of ways to improve your eyesight, which include dietary and nutritional measures. However simple measures like watching less television, taking breaks when working long hours at a computer and wearing the right kind of eyewear will help in small ways to protect the longevity of your eyes.  

Carrot is an age old home remedy prescribed by many generations as a remedy to improve eyesight.


Carrot contains beta-carotene, an important agent in the formation of vitamin A in the body, the main agent in strengthening eyesight. Cold water fish like cod, sardines, and, mackerel are also good sources of DHA — an ingredient that provides support to cell membranes, thus cutting the rate of macular degeneration and helping preserve proper eyesight. Garlic and onions are also helpful as they are necessary for the production of glutathione, an essential antioxidant that the lens of the eye uses to protect itself from cataract formation. Fruits and vegetables are also important sources of vitamin A, C and E and beta carotene, all essential to maintaining and improving eyesight. Apart from these dietary measures, vitamin supplements like vitamin C and vitamin B complex also help. Vitamin C helps strengthen the capillaries and maintain the shape of the cornea, in case of infection. Vitamin B complex helps improve nerve function; this directly helps the retinal receptor cells which send all visual information through the nerve fibers in the optic nerve.
