Blood pressure remedies

Among other predictors, blood pressure is one of the most reliable ones of the presence of cardiovascular problems in later adulthood. In order to keep it in control and even reduce it there are a number of things you could do.

Although not all people who consume excessive amounts of salt are at risk for high blood pressure it is best to regulate its consumption.

Reduce your intake of salt in food and substitute various high-sodium food products with sodium-free or low-sodium ones. You can try using organic rock salt instead of the more commonly used iodized table salt. Many convenience foods such as fast food and pre-packaged snack foods have very high levels of sodium as well.

You should reduce or at least eliminate them from your diet. To make up for this you can increase intake of fresh fruit such as bananas and other fresh vegetables, which are high in potassium. This mineral is considered beneficial in off-setting the negative effects of high blood pressure.

Immediate ways to lower pressure fast include doing some deep, slow breathing. Close your eyes and inhale deep. Hold the breath for a count of 3-4 seconds and exhale slowly. All the while keep your body relaxed and comfortable. You could make this relaxation a part of your daily routine. Some forms of yoga and T’ai chi are very effective in encouraging a relaxed frame of mind and body, which is inimical to an elevated blood pressure. These will also help your body become more fit which will help you combat the condition in the long run.
