Bags under eye treatment

Bags under the eyes are caused by the collection of fluid under the sensitive area under the eye. These could result from something that is easily modified such as eye strain, poor sleep habits, too much sun, allergies, stress, bad diets and vitamin inadequacies. They may also be caused by factors such as genetics, illness and tobacco usage.

If you are one of those individuals who spend a major portion of their day staring at a computer monitor bags under the eyes are an expected occupational hazard. To ameliorate this condition, which can also be caused by other eye-fatiguing activities such as reading in poor light, sewing or any other task that requires protracted and focused use of the eyes, you can try taking short breaks from the activity. Look away from the monitor/sewing/ book and blink rapidly a few times.

Roll your eyes around in their sockets. Pretend you need to look about you in all directions, including at the ceiling, without moving your neck. Gently massage the balls of your eyes with index and middle finger to relieve the strain.

You can try placing a number of different easily available but extremely soothing remedies on your eyes. Keep a couple of teabags that have been steeped in hot water for about 5 minutes, in the refrigerator for 10 minutes. Place these tea bags over your eyes for about fifteen minutes. You can also try two thinly cut slices of cold cucumber instead of tea bags. Do this before you go to bed and if possible at other times in the day when you feel your eyes are strained.
