Scabies natural treatment
Scabies is caused by eight legged mites about 1/3rd of a millimeter long, known as sarcoptes scabiei. These mites burrow into the skin and causing the appearance of tiny red blisters. Scabies infections are characterized by intense itching.
The presence of dirt has nothing to do with scabies. The mites need a host within an hour or so in order to survive — thus they can be transmitted readily through a household by prolonged contact with the infected person’s skin. The most effective home remedy for scabies is pure tea tree oil. The treatment can be carried out by adding 20-30 drops of the oil to a tub of warm water and soaking the infected areas. This should be done once or twice daily for 2-3 weeks or until the itch returns.
Margosa oil is also effective in treating scabies and has been used for thousands of years as natural remedy. However, once the infected areas are treated, care should be taken to prevent further infection or spread of the disease by thoroughly washing bedding towels and other clothing in bleach and hot water. You should keep your fingernails short and trimmed to eliminate the chance of any mites or eggs taking shelter there.
