Please ‘Bee’ prepared to know the following remedies:

  • Quickly locate the stinger and pull it out as quickly as possible using tweezers, or a stiff, flat object, such as a credit card, and pull or scrape out the stinger.

 

  • Wash the area with water and soap to heal the wound.

 

  • A paste of baking soda and water applied directly to the stung area for 15 to 20 minutes relieves  pain.


 

  • Dabbing small amount of household ammonia can provide relief.

 

  • Extract juice from plantain leaves which can be applied on the injured area. This relieves you from the pain.

 

  • Put an ice in a cloth and apply to the site for 10 to 30 minutes. Keep the ice from direct contact with the skin, to avoid the chance of freezing.

 

  • Placing a raw onion on the wound draws the poison from the wound, helping you to get relief easily.

 

  • Rubbing granulated sugar on the affected area can help you get rid of the scar due to the wound.

 

  • Apply toothpaste on the sting, to prevent pain aggravation.

 

  • Dab apple cider vinegar as soon as you remove the stinger, as it prevents swelling and spreading of poison.
