Health advice on leg cramp

Stretch your calf muscles for 10 to 15 minutes 3 to 4 times a day and you can continue this form of exercise even when your cramp is cured so as to prevent getting them in future.

Soak your legs in warm water for 15 minutes, wipe it dry and then massage it with some oil. You can use mustard oil, coconut oil or olive oil for this purpose.

Boil some clove spice or 3 or 4 garlic cloves in the oil and then rub it on your legs.

Do not sit cross legged till you get relief from the cramp. Fold and unfold your legs to restore circulation.

Bath your legs alternately with cold and hot water for 8 to 10 minutes and rest them by stretching them straight ahead. Apply ice pack or hot ferment your legs 2 to 3 times daily.

Have more of foods that contain potassium and calcium.

Avoid running or cycling for a few days. You can take short and leisurely walk to regulate blood flow.

Drink lots of fluids to avoid dehydration which can aggravate the cramps.

Take 2 tsp of honey with your meals everyday for at least a week.

Drink 5 cups of chamomile tea everyday for 2 weeks as it contains an amino acid called glycine which relaxes the muscles.
