Home remedies for restless legs
- Drink 1 glass of orange juice everyday. It contains potassium which helps in muscle contraction and sustains electrolyte and water balance in the body cells. It also releases energy from fats, carbohydrates and proteins during metabolism and sends nerve impulses. Low level of potassium in the body can cause restless leg syndrome.
- Having sufficient magnesium and iron in your diet will cure the restlessness.
- Rub your legs with apple cider vinegar in the morning and before retiring to bed.
- Take a short and leisurely walk and massage your legs with warm mustard oil before you got to bed at night. Before taking a bath or a shower, massage your legs with warm olive oil or mustard oil, wait for 15 minutes and then bathe yourself. You can also soak yourself in a warm bath tub before going to bed at night.
- Do alternate hot and cold fermentation on your legs for 8 to 10 minutes.
- If your feet become very cold at night then wear socks to bed.
- Exercise regularly and keep calm through various breathing techniques. Avoid stress and maintain a healthy, balanced and nutritious diet.
- Follow a regular bedtime and eat lighter meals at night. Drink 1 cup of warm milk mixed with honey and a pinch of turmeric powder to maintain body warmth and induce sleep.
