Jaundice dietary advice
Jaundice is a disorder that affects the liver. People suffering from Jaundice have an increased bilirubin n their blood, that is there is an increase in the bile pigments in their bodies. Jaundice patients complain of nausea, extreme weakness and loss of appetite.
Jaundice is usually caused when the bile ducts are obstructed due to an inflammation of the liver. Typhoid, malaria and tuberculosis also cause jaundice. Therefore, it is advisable to visit a doctor who can diagnose your condition accurately. Pound a bunch of the green leaves of radish. Squeeze the pounded radish through a thin cloth. Collect the juice and drink this twice day. Another effective home remedy is tomato juice. Simply chop two ripe tomatoes. Now run them through the processor. Add a pinch of salt and a pinch of pepper and drink this in the morning. Barely water can be drunk at regular intervals through out the day by a person suffering from jaundice.
A bland diet and plenty of rest are two requisites for a jaundice patient. Avoid eating food that contains a high content of fat. Legumes and pulses have a tendency to ferment and these should be avoided by a person suffering form jaundice.
Salt cannot be completely avoided in food, but you should avoid eating food that has too much salt in it.
