Relation between gastritis and mental discomfort
How long does Gastritis generally last? Also does it cause mental discomfort and bad thoughts as well cause I’ve been feeling it for long now especially during the mornings.

Gastritis is the term given to the condition where your stomach’s lining either gets inflamed or irritated. However, this condition could have a wide variety of causes. What you do experience is discomfort or, often, even pain in your abdomen.
This is sometimes referred to as dyspepsia. Scientifically, there is no connection between gastritis and discomfort of the mental kind. This does not mean that it’s abnormal. Mental pain is so often linked to physical pain and that could be what is happening in your case. Try to focus on happy or positive thoughts and emotions when you feel such an attack. Keep in mind that gastritis is manageable. Another thing is that one could have acute gastritis which means only a brief and sudden spell of gastritis or chronic gastritis. This latter one lasts a lot longer. In some cases it could possibly be a condition of another disease. Visit your doctor for a proper diagnosis. This is because causes could include other medical conditions, lifestyle, medications and physical or even mental stress. Remember that bad eating habits like imbalanced meals, overeating and consuming food that hasn’t been cooked correctly can ultimately lead to gastritis.
Try out various natural solutions to gastritis. Coconut milk can provide relief when you find that you are experiencing symptoms of gastritis. Even otherwise, as you go about your day, you should try chewing some fresh coconut. You can get relief from potato juice. You could simply put one in your blender or you could add a teaspoon containing fresh ginger. Drink this concoction about half an hour before your daily meals, after straining the pulp. There are different triggers which you should try to cut back on or avoid completely. These may not actually cause gastritis but they could make the symptoms worse. Alcohol and tobacco are two such stimulants. Caffeinated drinks could also trigger gastritis. Try to avoid spicy foods such as chilies, pickles and other spices or excess sauces. Be regular and healthy in your eating habits. Yogurt or curds can be advantageous. Even cottage cheese is good for you. See that your meals are well balanced and don’t include varieties of food that shouldn’t go together. Check with your doctor for a list of foods to be eliminated from your diet. If the gastric is due to medical complications such as the use of certain medication, your doctor will be able to single it out.

There is no scientific evidence to prove that there is any connection between gastritis and mental discomfort. However, it is entirely possible that an uncomfortable condition like gastritis should make you feel miserable. So it is better that you try and attack that problem instead. You can sip fresh tender coconut water all day to begin with. On that particular day, it is preferable to avoid eating or drinking anything else or smoking. After the first day, you can switch to chilled water all day, and maintain drinking tender coconut water in the mornings on an empty stomach. Eating papaya on an empty stomach is also known to cleanse the system thoroughly. Eat as much yogurt as you can. The live bacteria in yogurt fight acids that lead to gastritis. Fresh fruit is also soothing to the stomach and will help in tackling the problem effectively. However, you must avoid fruits that are high in acidic content such as oranges and sweet limes. The best fruits to eat would be papayas, apples, melon, water melon and chikoo (sapota). To tackle the problem of acidity, you can also sip from a glass of 50 milliliters of milk, topped off with ice all day. This will help soothe an irritated stomach. A cure for gastritis could actually mean a cure for your mental discomfort.
