Advice and cure for depression

What is known as clinical depression is a psychiatric disorder in which a person suffers from loss of interest in regular, even previously pleasurable activities and experiences long periods of feeling "low" without any clear and immediate reason. Unless your depression is part of a larger disorder, it is quite likely that you can get out of it without professional help.

One helpful approach is to realise that the way you are feeling is only temporary and not unusual.

Sometimes depression can become a vicious cycle. You look at your state of mind, feel that there is no way out of it, and begin to feel still worse. Avoid falling into this trap.

And it might seem useless and a cliché sometimes, but talking to a friend will help. A close friend, a sibling, a spouse — even if you feel there's no one around with whom you'd like to share your feelings, just spending time with another person will make you feel better. Isolating yourself and focusing on your depression will only make it worse. So spend time with people whose company you enjoy, people who care about you, go out, do things with other people. In addition, you can also go for a walk by yourself or try meditation. Half an hour of exercise or meditation a few times a week will greatly improve your mood. In addition, there are some dietary modifications that might help — incorporate more foods containing Omega 3 fatty acids into your diet and increase your intake of Vitamin B.

If your depression continues and you feel that you can't do any more on your own, it's time to seek professional help.
