Cold and cough natural cures

Cold, coughs and throat infections are symptoms of a viral infection in your body. This viral infection attacks when the natural resistance of your body is low. There could be a variety of reasons for the onset of this infection – stress, a general feeling of being run-down and deficiencies caused by nutritional imbalance are some of these.


If colds, coughs and throat infections are a recurring feature, then it might be a good idea of consult a doctor.

 Squeeze the juice of half a lemon. Add a spoon of honey and pour hot water over this.


Mix well and drink. You can drink this as often as you want.

Another remedy to help ease the sore throat is ginger tea. Peel and grate a half inch piece of ginger root. Add this to one cup of water and boil till the water is reduced by half. Now strain this. You can add a spoon full of honey to this.  
Remember that old saying about feeding a cold? Eat plenty of healthy food. Stay off spicy, oily food. A bowl of hot soup is a wonderful way to clear a cold and sooth the throat. And remember to eat healthy food – eggs and fish, green vegetables, plenty of oranges and orange juice- even after your cold is cured. It is obvious that you need to build up your body resistance to prevent further infections.
