Chicken pox health advice

If you are suffering from fever and have a rash composed of tiny red boils on your body, then you are suffering from Chicken pox. Chicken pox is caused by a virus and is a common illness, especially among children. An outbreak of chicken pox is accompanied by symptoms that resemble those of flu.

There is no real treatment for chicken pox. However, since the boils often itch uncontrollably, preventing the patient from scratching them is very important.

Chicken pox is highly contagious, that is it can spread easily to others. Chicken pox is contagious even before the rash appears! It is contagious two days before the rash appears. And stays contagious right up to the time when a dry crust is formed over the boils. So, yes, you cannot go out to attend any kind of events till the time when you have been declared chicken pox free.

In fact, you will need to practice certain measures to ensure that chicken pox does not spread. Stay away from your family, especially if you have a sibling. Wash your hands before eating.

You can wash yourself in cool water. Pat your self dry so that you do not irritate the boils. Eat soft food, that is neither oily nor spicy.
