Natural Treatment for Poison IVY

For a home remedy for poison ivy, apply leaves of jewelweed, after crushing them. Jewelweed is a pretty common weed in wet areas; it could be growing in your garden right now!!

Rub any alcohol to the area, then wash it off it with cold water and later rinse with soap and water.  Try rubbing table salt on it after wetting the area; this will relieve you and stop further spread to other areas. The inner side of a banana peel is also curative. Rub it on the affected area for relief from itching.

Try this!! Mix 1/4 cup of bleach with 3/4 cup of warm water and apply to the affected area using a clean cloth. This will destroy the poison within a couple of days. Apply a coolant like aloe vera juice for instant relief.

However, some have such a severe reaction to poison ivy that they need to visit a doctor and get an injection. It usually takes about a couple of weeks to completely get rid of poison ivy rash.

Simultaneously, supplementation with Vitamin C with bioflavanoids, Beta -carotene, Zinc & calcium will help building your immunity from within and help you heal faster. Please consult your physician before taking any supplements.
