Exercise is a Must for Weight Loss

For most people struggling to lose the excess weight, whether it is five pounds or fifty pounds, diet alone is not enough. You can cut calories and watch your portion intake and it will certainly help. However, in order to really lose the weight that you want, you must exercise.

Exercise is the key to successful weight loss and will promote weight loss and a healthy body.

When you exercise for weight loss, you do not have to take part in high impact or hard exercises. This is what holds many people back.

They think that they need to join a pricey gym or hire a personal trainer to do any good. This is simply not true. The simplest forms of exercise will burn calories and help you lose weight. Here are some great exercises that you can do while you are on a weight loss regimen.

Walking: Walking is one of the best forms of exercise. Anyone can do it and you can walk inside or outside. The great thing about walking is that you can tailor your walking program to fit your skill level and your interest. You can do it with your friends, or alone. Once you start getting use to walking, you can add weights to your arms or legs or start walking a different route.

Yoga and Pilates: Yoga and pilates is an excellent way to get exercise without feeling like you have just run a marathon. It is a relaxing, yet very effective way to burn the calories. There are many videos and DVDs that can teach you both forms of exercise, or you can visit a studio and take courses to get you started.

Swimming/ Water aerobics: The pool is your friend when you want to lose weight. If you have a swimming pool, then use it to your advantage. If not, find out if your community pool offers classes. Best yet, these types of exercises are beneficial and safe for those who are elderly, pregnant and those suffering from back or joint pain.
