Many people dream of shedding the unwanted pounds—and some people succeed in this endeavor. It does, however, take plenty of hard work and perseverance to win the weight battle. You may try many diets and exercises and never see the scales budget.

Making small changes can lead to losing a lot of weight.
In fact, you can make little changes in your eating habits and exercise and you probably will not notice the difference at all. For example, look at food substitutions. You might cringe at the very thought, but there are actually very good food substitutions out there. You can trade your high calorie soda to a diet, no calorie soda once a day and save 150 calories. How about opting for high fiber cereal in the morning instead of the sugary cereal you usually eat? You can also look for low fat dairy products and try to eat leaner, healthier meats.
Exercise is another great way to help you tone your body and lose weight. You may never even need to join the gym when you find alternative exercises. Some research actually suggests that small, short bursts of physical activity are just as effective as a hard workout. Park your car in a remote parking lot and walk the rest of the way or walk your kids to school. Take the stairs when you can and burn those extra calories right away.
Another great way to promote weight loss by making small changes is to watch your portions that you eat. When you use a smaller plate, you will have less on it, thus will eat less. You can also slow down while you eat and this will help you feel fuller much faster.
As you can see, losing weight doesn’t have to turn into a major battle. Take it slow and make small changes for a big impact.
