Information on headache

Most medical practitioners categorize occurring headaches in positional types when the patient is sitting up or standing up. However It is not unusual to get headaches only when lying down, but the nature of the headache needs to be delved into a bit more further. Just a simple ache only when sleeping or lying indicates bad sleeping posture or a strain in the spinal region due to area where you are sleeping.

You could try sleeping by placing extra pillows under your head, if it helps in relieving the strain of the nape of your neck or the head.

If the headache still continues to persist even after simple pillow/bed alterations or no matter which position you take when lying down, then it is advisable to visit your family doctor to understand the reason for its prevalence.

Sometimes headaches are attributed to stress, emotional disturbances, or anxiousness. What makes one even more susceptible to the constant aches is regular consumption of alcohol, working beyond normal limits, neglecting meals etc. Activity that is not your part of your daily norm cal also trigger headaches, so apart from checking your sleeping habits keep a tab on your daily schedule to see if there has been any drastic change in them.
