You can also try soaking his hands in a small tub of oatmeal and milk for about half an hour everyday. This should help in developing long-term hydration to his fingers. Regular use of sunscreen with an SPF of at least 50 should aid in improving the condition. Also, try to keep him out of the sun between 11 am and 2 pm, when the sun is at its strongest.
