Information on lump in throat

Feels like lump in my throat all the time. Been doctoring and nothing is wrong. Had endoscopy done twice, speech therapists, etc. Sometimes it gets sore with a lot of talking and laughing. What can I do? Had it going on 3 years now.

Information on lump in throat

Chances are that you are suffering from a prolonged episode of pharyngitis or tonsillitis, both of which have the common symptom of a lumpy feeling in the throat. But it is most probably tonsillitis, as you also mentioned that your throat gets sore after talking a lot. Basically, tonsillitis is an inflammation of the tonsils and the lymph glands located near the back of the throat.

The best way to treat these infections is to gargle with salt water twice a day, or even better, gargle with turmeric powder in warm water. Turmeric is known for its antibacterial and anti inflammatory properties. After meals, drinking warm milk with a pinch of turmeric added to it, helps soothe the throat and you wake up fresh in the morning.

Your diet also plays a huge role in improving the condition of your throat. Therefore, avoid all foods that are overtly rich in oil. Do not consume fast foods and tinned or canned foods on a regular basis. Use breathing exercises to help clear any congestion in your lungs and throat. Normal free-hand exercises not only keep you fit, but help build a strong immune system that is essential in fighting off infections. However the most important thing to avoid is smoking.
