Weight loss advice There are two components to weight loss: Diet and Exercise. If either is missing, you may achieve short-term results but it will not be a sustained weight loss. In order to make sure you keep off the weight you lose you need to have a sustained life-style change including modifications in both what you eat, and how much exercise you get.
In order to make sure you will stick with the changes you implement avoid fad diets that involve complete abstinence from certain food groups. Again this will lead to short-term weight loss, but prove unsuccessful in the long run. Instead try eating smaller portions of your favorite foods. Increase the amount of raw salads, whole-wheat breads and pastas, fruits and vegetables. Avoid sugar not only in beverages such as tea, coffee, and colas, but also in breads and pastas made from refined flour.
Some homemade remedies you can try to aid your weight loss include drinking lots of water (8-10 glasses or more). You can substitute your regular dose of coffee or cola with green tea, which is great for controlling appetite and fighting free-radical damage. Drinking warm water with a teaspoonful of fresh lemon juice on an empty stomach, on waking up is also beneficial in weight loss.
You can make you sure you supplement this dietary change with a change in your activity levels as well. Participate in physical activities that you are comfortable and happy doing. Do not force yourself into a high-impact aerobics class if you are more inclined to brisk walking or T'ai chi. The goal is to gradually increase physical activity to a level that you are mentally and physically satisfied with.
