Swollen eye and cough remedy

You have not mentioned the reason for your swollen eye. If you have hurt yourself and have a black eye, then you can first use a cold pack. Pack some ice cubes in a plastic bag and hold this up to your eye.

However, you have mentioned some discharge from your eye. This could be some kind of an infection. It is advisable to visit your doctor, who will be able to examine you and identify your condition.

You can try bathing the affected eye with some warm water. Dip a swab of cotton in the warm water and wash the eye. However, a visit to the doctor is absolutely necessary.

If you have developed a cough this is probably a reaction to some kind of irritation of your throat.  Add a pinch of turmeric to a spoonful of honey. Consume this to get relief from your cough. Peel a piece of ginger. You can either grate it or chop it into fine pieces. Now boil a cup of water and add the ginger to this. Let it boil for a few minutes. Strain it and drink. If the brew is too strong, you can add a spoonful of honey.  If you don't want to make the tea, then simply peel a piece of ginger. Wash it, pat it dry and then eat it, along with a pinch of salt.
