If you are suffering from sinusitis, it means that the cavities around your nose and eyes carry an infection. You are also probably sneezing almost continually, dealing with a running nose and experiencing pain around your face. This infection results in mucous and a pressing pain around the affected areas.


Allergies to dust, pollen are some of the reasons for your sinusitis to start acting up. Of course the simplest way of avoiding the discomfort of sinusitis is to stay away from dust and pollution.

You can help the sinus cavities clear up by inhaling steam. Heat some water. When it boils take it off the flame. Carefully bend over the steam and inhale. Draping a towel over yourself when you inhale steam is another good option.

Home Remedies for Sinus Infection

• Boil a spoonful of fenugreek seeds in a cup of water till the water reduces in half. Strain and drink. You can drink this three or four times a day.  

• Drinking plenty of fluids, including hot drinks can help you clear up the clogged sinus cavities. However, if your sinus cavities continue to remain infected, then it is a good idea to consult a doctor who can help you.

• Eating food that is ‘hot’ that is, food that contains ingredients like ginger, garlic, even chilies. Drink lots of water. A brisk walk can almost miraculously clear your clogged sinuses.
