Panic attacks can be quite serious for the person concerned. Your doctor will be best able to diagnose your predicament. The worry caused by the first panic attacks could be playing on your mind.

This added tension might even cause a slight chest pain. It is the terror of the next one that can make things worse. But it is impossible to reach a conclusive diagnosis over the internet. You need to report any additional symptoms to your doctor at the earliest. The problem is that causes for these attacks are not very clear. Do stay calm. Most everyone has been through a panic attack at some point. There are different possible triggers. Is it that you’ve been feeling sleep deprived or have there been some significant changes in your life of late? Try to spend some time in introspection and pinpoint the events that lead to these panic attacks.

If you do happen to get an attack, look for quiet. You need that one peaceful spot. In some cases, performing routine chores can help calm you down. This is because it restores your sense of being in control. Opt for simple chores like folding clothes. Teas such as chamomile are renowned for their soothing effects. Drinking rosemary tea or inhaling this herb can be helpful. Even drinking milk and eating oatmeal can help because of their value as comfort foods. They facilitate calming you down. Lavender is always calming while lemon balm can help too. Many recommend St John’s Wort. If it’s a feeling of being overwhelmed, try to look forward to a quiet, relaxed meal. Chocolate works as a great pick-me-up but since it is a stimulant, some people prefer to avoid it. While you may feel drawn to a smoke or drink, you really should steer clear of both. They usually serve to make matters worse. The same applies to stimulants such as caffeine and colas. A hot shower or even a soak can be a wonderful experience. You should be able to feel your muscles relax and the tension ebb away. You could throw in a few drops of soothing essential oils such as lavender to keep your relaxed. Look to yoga for various deep breathing exercises. Practice these so that you’re prepared when you feel a panic attack coming on. Alternative therapies include Cognitive-behavioral therapy. Many people turn to meditation. The key is to find something that truly relaxes you.

Apart from that, here are a few things that you can do to control or lessen your panic. This aroma could be that of baby powder, certain flowers, fresh air, farm animals, freshly baked pastries, etc. When the panic attacks, exercise. You need to remove the excess adrenaline from your system. Make a conscious effort to slow down your breathing by taking deep breaths, inhaling and exhaling at a count of eight. Focus on something specific, apart from your anxiety, like counting sheep or mental math.
