Bladder infection information

Bladder inflammation, in medical terminology, is referred to as cystitis. Men are more at risk for bladder infections than women. Bladder inflammation may be caused due to obstruction in the urinary tract, bladder stones, bacterial bladder infection, E.

coli bladder infection, or sometimes even medication.

Some of the symptoms of bladder inflammation are as follows:

  • Burning sensations while passing urine
  • Experiencing cramps after urination
  • Difficulty in urinating
  • Frequent urges to urinate
  • Lower abdominal pain
  • Blood in urine
  • Odd smelling urine
  • Fever or chills

You can try a few home remedies for some relief from this infection. The most important point is to drink lots of water or fluids.

Urinate as frequently as you need to. Avoid drinking tea, coffee, and sodas. Avoid eating spicy foods. Include some form of Vitamin C in your diet. Include vegetables that have sulfur in them such as asparagus, spinach; dry fruits such as cashews, almonds; and fruits that have rich sources of vitamin C such as cranberries, lemons, and blueberries. You can also add a pinch of parsley leaves or flakes in boiled water and drink it after some time. But parsley leaves is a definite no for pregnant women. If you think the symptoms are aggravated, it is best to consult your doctor.
