Natural Remedies for Ingrown Hair

Here are some of the most effective natural remedies for ingrown hair:
  • Make a habit of using antibiotic soaps daily in order to prevent any kind of infection caused by ingrown hairs.
  • Exfoliation is an effective method of treating ingrown hair. Dead skin cells sometimes block the follicle openings due to improper shaving or waxing.

A light scrub can help to open the blocked pores and treat ingrown hairs. Exfoliation of the skin can also result in loosening of barbed ingrown hair that offers a soft and tender skin.
  • Moisturizing is another way of keeping hairs soft.

These soft hairs usually don’t penetrate the skin because ingrown hairs are mostly caused by penetration of hard and bristly hairs into the skin. Moisturizers help to block all external and harmful substances that can stimulate the development of ingrown hairs in the areas of leg, arms and pubic area. Tea tree oil is the best oil that can be used as a moisturizer.
  • Essential oils extracted from various antiseptic and medicinal herbs such as lavender, chamomile and aloe vera are most beneficial for treating ingrown hairs. These oils have been used since ages to heal mind and body. A combination of lavender oil, chamomile oil and tea tree oil is a great remedy for ingrown hairs. Azulene oil also helps in inhibiting hair growth and eventually treating ingrown hairs.
