Home Remedies for Conjunctivitis

There are many natural cures and home remedies for conjunctivitis. Read on the following home remedies that are most effective and fruitful in treating conjunctivitis:
  • Boil fennel seeds in water and use them as an eye wash. This is good for curing conjunctivitis.
  • Add some dried chamomile flower to boiled water and allow it to cool.  After some time, wash your eyes well with this water. This can also be used as a compress.
  • Pour a drop of honey directly in your eyes. You can also use honey as eye wash. Pour some drops of honey in warm water and wash your eyes. Honey has anti-bacterial properties that help in soothing your eyes.
  • You can even use warm or tepid milk as a compress or eye wash. This can help you get rid of eye swelling and wrinkled skin under your eyes.
  • Grate some raw potato and place them on the infected eye. This is very soothing to the eye and helps relive pain and reduce inflammation.  You can even put a complete slice of raw potato.
  • Buy a good over the counter eye lubricant or artificial tears that are beneficial in soothing and relaxing your eyes.
  • Prepare a soothing eye wash by mixing one tsp of baking soda in 2 cups of water.
  • Prepare an eye wash using powdered root bark of barberry and water.
