Home remedies for anxiety. - A mild tranquillizer such as the Passion flower is calming and highly recommended.
- You will benefit from a full-body oil massage as it helps reduce anxiety.
You could use sesame, Sunflower, coconut or corn oil for the massage. Take 6 - 7 ounces of warm oil and rub the oil all over your body. It is advisable if you use this therapy in the morning before bathing.
However if you experience high levels of anxiety, you can try this at any point in the day.
- If the anxiety is coupled with a fast heart rate or palpitations. You will find relief by drinking a glass of orange juice. Put 1 teaspoon of honey and pinch of nut meg in one cup of orange juice.
- A relaxing bath is helpful to bring down anxiety levels. Soak yourself in a warm bath for 10 – 15 minutes. Put 1/3 cup baking soda and1/3 cup ginger and in a tub full of water.
- When you experience feelings of anxiety, your breathing becomes shallow. This impedes an easy flow of oxygen to reach the vital organs in your body. Such a condition can cause hyperventilation. Practicing proper breathing exercises will alleviate such a condition.
- Yoga breathing exercises are an effective way to control anxiety. The unique blend of physical postures and movements, breathing practices and relaxation are helpful in harmonizing the physical body and the mechanisms of the nervous system.
