Natural Cure for Heartburn

There are many ways of getting rid of the irritation under your rib cage. This irritation under the rib cage is caused by various different factors.

To get rid from heartburn, you need to cut down the main offenders causing heartburn.


Coffee, alcohol, spicy foods, citrus fruits, fatty foods, tomatoes and chocolates irritate the lining of the esophagus and trigger reflux. These foods are responsible for aggravating the condition. So, avoid these foods and get relieved from the irritation.




Onion can also be the cause of heart burn. So, you can obliterate onion or opt for other varieties of onion. Many researchers have studied different varieties of onions to learn their effects on the human system. Studies revealed that three Texas of onion namely sweet onion, Maui and the Walla Walla are the three varieties of onions that don’t cause heartburn. These varieties may not be available in food stores or grocery stores, you can check out for the same in the markets of local farmers.

Frequent meals of small diet can also help you in relieving the irritation under your rib cage. Keep a gap of at least three hours between your last meal and sleep time because you are more likely to occur heartburn when you are lying down. Along with frequent meals, drink plenty of water because water helps in washing out the stomach acid from the esophagus. The swallowed saliva helps in neutralizing the acid.
