cure for grey hair

Many people take the color of their hair extremely seriously. People go to great lengths to ensure that their hair remains close to its original color. This is, of course, discounting those who wish to color their hair in a different shade from its original color.

Hair gets its color from cells within the hair follicles that are known as melanocytes. These cells produce a pigment which is imparted into the hair. The color of this pigment is determined by the genetic makeup of the individual. At some point in time, the cells slow their production of pigment. This is a natural function of aging. As an individual ages, the hair color tends to turn lighter because of this. The term gray hair is used to describe the hair on an individual which is partly its original color and party white. There is little scientific evidence to suggest that there is some sort of miracle gray hair cure for older people. The development of gray hair is something that all people need to accept as inevitable. However, many people experience problems of premature gray hair. Premature gray hair is defined as hair that begins to lose its pigment at an age lower than 35 years of age. Around the age of 30 to 35, individuals would usually start experiencing and noticing gray hair. However, if this happens much earlier, then it is a sign of the condition known as premature gray hair.

When it comes to a gray hair cure, one can certainly apply this cure to individuals who are suffering from premature gray hair. The issue then is to figure out the premature gray hair causes. When one does this, an effective gray hair remedy could be used to tackle the problem.

The association between premature gray hair and thyroid has been established through medical research. This research has suggested that various different thyroid conditions could cause premature gray hair. The relationship between premature gray hair and thyroid disease applies both to hyperthyroidism and to hypothyroidism. Individuals who wish for a premature gray hair cure may be advised to have their blood work checked to make sure that there is no deficiency in the functioning of the thyroid gland. This abnormality might explain the premature gray hair causes.

Vitamin deficiencies have also been identified as potential premature gray hair causes. When one speaks of gray hair vitamins, one usually refers to vitamin B12. This vitamin is found in eggs, meat and milk. Vegan diets avoid all these food groups and may put an individual at risk of a vitamin B12 deficiency. This type of vitamin deficiency is a known cause for premature gray hair. As with the thyroid gland problems, one may have a test to check for vitamin deficiencies which will explain why one has premature gray hair. Vitamin B12 deficiencies have been linked to diet imbalances. In some cases, one may experience a deficiency of this vitamin if there is some sort of digestive disruption. This type of disruption may reduce the body’s ability to absorb vitamin B12. When this happens, the individual will experience a deficiency of this vitamin. This deficiency may also be responsible for premature gray hair in children.

One possible cause of premature gray hair in women is early menopause. Menopause is the process where the female reproductive system begins to shut down on its own. This happens when the woman reaches an age when her body decides that it can no longer successfully produce a child. Menopause is characterized by rapid and often violent hormonal changes. Many women experience difficult symptoms when they go through the process of menopause. The hormonal changes associated with this process may cause premature gray hair in women.
Another factor associated with premature gray hair is stress. Many individuals lead highly stressful lives with careers and personal lives that tend to put a lot of pressure on them. These individuals are at risk of developing stress related disorders including premature gray hair.

There are also other risk factors that may cause premature gray hair. The consumption of too many stimulants by individuals may be responsible for this condition. People who smoke are at risk of developing premature gray hair. This is one of the leading causes of premature gray hair in young people. Individuals who consume large quantities if tea and coffee will also be at risk for developing this condition.

Finally, we come to a rare but important skin condition known as vitiligo. Vitiligo is a condition where the melanin production of the body stops functioning properly. Vitiligo usually affects parts of the skin first before affecting the scalp. Individuals are known to suffer from premature gray hair as a result of vitiligo. Individuals who suffer from this condition will initially develop patches of extremely light skin on their bodies. As these patches spread, the entire complexion of the individual will change until it turns to an extremely pale skinned appearance. Individuals who suffer from vitiligo cannot do anything to cure the condition. The rapid progress of the condition may be slowed but it cannot be stopped as of now.

Gray hair treatment depends entirely on the underlying cause of the condition that has affected the individual. Once the underlying cause has been diagnosed, the individual can undergo corrective treatment as necessary. Problems like vitamin deficiency may be cured easily by improving the diet. The thyroid gland may need to be treated or surgically treated if it is found that there is some major abnormality with the gland.
However, in most cases, the gland is treated with medication which should help to restore its normal functions. Individuals may also use artificial gray hair treatment. The hair care market is now worth many millions of dollars. Individuals may choose hair colors that match their original color as closely as possible and use these to cover up patches of their hair that appear to be gray. Gray hair is often considered to be socially embarrassing which is why individuals may choose to take measures to reverse this condition in an attempt to restore their youthful appearance.
