Natural Cures for Toothache

There are many ways of curing toothache naturally. Following are some of the most effective natural means of alleviate tooth pain.

Acupressure

For acupressure, there are different points on the body.


to relieve tooth pain press point LI 4 on the hand depending on which side you have the toothache. If your left tooth is aching, then press point on the left side and if right tooth is aching press point on the right side.  Holding the point for about one minute can help to ease tooth pain.


this method is not advised for pregnant women as this may cause uterine contraction.

Herbal Therapy

There are many natural herbs that are beneficial for treating toothache. Clove oil is the best solution for relieving toothache. Avoid using it with its full strength because it might destroy the nerve of your tooth.

Home remedies for toothache
  • Chew a clove of garlic with a little rock salt to get relief from toothache. You can also apply its oil to the affected tooth or chew a clove every morning.
  • Place a piece of raw onion on the affected tooth or gum or chew raw onion for 3 minutes everyday. This will not only kill all the germs and bacteria in the mouth but prevent several tooth disorders.
  • Lime is a rich source of vitamin C and cures and prevents tooth decay, bleeding and dental cavities.
  • Use the juice of wheat grass as a mouthwash to rinse your mouth with it regularly. Chewing a wheat grass also kills bacteria and prevents its formation and growth.
  • Heat a tiny lump of asafetida in lime juice and soak a cotton ball in it. Now, apply it on the affected tooth or gum 2 to 3 times a day. It acts as a pain reliever.
  • Clove has antiseptic properties and a regular application of its oil to the cavity will kill all the germs and provide relief from toothache. You can also chew 1 or 2 cloves from time to time.
  • Apply a mixture of ¼ tsp of common salt and a pinch of pepper powder. Apart from providing relief from toothache, bleeding and foul breath, it also cures the sensitive teeth.
