Treatment for blocked ears It seems that you are suffering from some sort of ear infection. Ear infections can be serious and are best not fooled around with. In the initial stages, when the infection is still mild, it is possible to handle a ear infection using some simple home remedies.
Once the infection has progressed and become more severe however, medical attention will be necessary. You should therefore visit a doctor if a earache or blockage persists for more than a week. A build up of fluid in the ear, which sometimes follows the blocked sensation, is also an indication that you should visit a doctor.
Blowing with your nostrils and mouth shut is also not a good idea, as it can damage your ear or spread the infection if you blow too suddenly or too hard. A better technique is to take a deep breath and then blow out through tightly pursed lips. This places more even, steady, even pressure and may ease the blockage. You can also try yawning a couple of times. However, these are temporary measures that address only the symptom but not the infection. If the blocked sensation returns, you can do this several times a day, but you should also put a few drops of vinegar in your ear.
